When my 14 failed Star One and MB took great care of me, keep in mind I live 2.5 hrs from where the towers are made, so putting on a 2016 tower was not a huge deal.

Guitar Crazy, I've been starting to sniff around surf boats again and the 238 and the 18 MB are on my radar for sure, I have heard though the 226 is still a better surf boat for the $$ it sounds like you have to SLAM/list the 238.  Axis 23 is on the radar too

I think his response to the "Walrus lift" of a 18 swim deck would have been far better received than anything in this thread ha ha!  I think he safe spaced too many PNW dudes and got booted

I'm hoping for a "beached whale edition" that lowers into the water and lifts the fatties up into the boat.

I agree Larson and MB don't make ballast bags..but here lies the issue:
"Insert minor problem with 70k+ or 80k+ boat"
Next contact dealer...wait for some manufacturer/boat dealer finger pointing
Still waiting FOREVER if it ever gets resolved.

Then most people pay out of pocket because they want to use their boat.  Not here to bash, just the way it is.
I hope they get a bunch of these extra bags made quick or re-design....sounds like a 2013-14 shaft seal extravaganza!

Are all the new MB's plug and play?  I'm starting to snoop again, and was curious if you can do an OG pump and dump system and have the plug and play as a delete option?

WakeDirt reacted to Wylietunes in Arc audio 850.5 setup with polk MMs
Are your speakers 4 ohm or 2.7 ohm polks? The speaker is ohm load and you cannot change them as individual drivers. What we can do, is wire them with 2 or more speakers, resulting in a different ohm load seen by the amp. Since you have 4 speakers and 4 full range amp chnls, you will have one speaker per chnl. At this point, the amp will see the nominal impedance of each single speaker.

No reason to leave to 40HZ gap between the full range speakers and sub woofer. No reason to leave any gap for that matter. Thats 40Hz of audio material you just tossed out. 2nd, Not sure how the suggested woofer cross over was determined without knowing the woofer, how its loaded, etc. The full range speaker cross-over will hinge on the woofer's Hz, so start with getting it close to optimal.

I dont know why polk has to be so difficult   Either way, a 3 nominal ohm speaker would be higher than the amp's safe minimal impedance of 2 ohm. So you are good until you decide to add a 3rd pair to this amp, if you did.

Still a couple of variables as to what might be a good starting point for the woofer's LP cross over, but 70Hz is way too low.

Run the Polks at 4 ohm

    Ch 1/2 = 1 pair = 85W
    Ch 3/4 = 1 pair = 85W
Ch 5 = your sub = 400W if the sub is 2 oh or = 225W if the sub is 4 ohm.

    Cross your 6.5's @ 110hz
Cross your sub at 70hz or so at 18db steep slop

Do NOT run in FULL . > Allways on HIGH for cabins or towers.

    Your all set.

    cheers!

I had hiss/whine in every boat I have ever had.  My fixes have always been run a nice big independent ground from the motor/trans to the stereo batteries, be sure the deck/ws420 all share the same power source (stereo batteries) and install this lil' diddy...http://www.arcaudio.com/p/ald?pp=24 Absolute silence. (I also had a ws420SQ that had a hiss, and I sent it back to WS and they sent me another, no hiss.)
