  1. I just got the boat out for the summer and the temperature is climbing to 200 degrees at idle with the fake-a-lake hooked up in the driveway. I just installed a new impeller and have verified it's working by removing the hose from the outlet side of the impeller. I thought the thermostat may be stuck so replaced that and still having same issue. My next guess is the engine water circulation pump. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice before I tear into that? Any and all help would be appreciated.
  2. When I was draining the water from the boat today, I noticed my PnP bags came installed reversed: Port and Starboard. I have never seen these installed or removed. The red connector on the vent and fill lines look normal compared to YouTube University for other boats. What do I need to know are out the PnP connection to the hard tanks? My Starboard side bag always pops out my cup holders and I’m guessing these bags are different enough that they would not go out of there way to label them otherwise. Thank you for the assist!
  3. Howdy! I have a deal pending on a (new to me) 2017 B52 21 with the beastly 575 Raptor. Boat has 100 hours on it. Appears flawless in photos. here are the specs: Indmar Raptor 6.2L 575 hp Roush Supercarged MB Built in Ballast MB Plug and Play Twin 800lb Ballast Bags MB Switch Surf W/ Cav Plate Standard Prop - 15 x 14.25 - .105PRO Gator Step Floor Kit - Plank (Sharkfin) Heater - Interior Theater Lights Heated Drivers seat Boat Cover Bimini Top Tandem Trailer Stereo Rear View Mirror I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time researching this forum and other inter webs. A few questions remain unanswered in my searches: -what years did the motor mount/shaft issues exist -economical board rack solution compatible with 2017 tower -does anyone on this forum actually have the 575 super charged motor? If so, likes/dislikes/maintenance issues, etc. -will I need to sell a kidney to cover the summer fuel bill -any specific systems/items worth giving extra attention to while conducting my survey/sea trial -will 15x14.25 prop be appropriate for high elevation lakes (+/- 7000 ft) -stock stereo with no tower speakers. Any suggestions on a couple descent tower speakers? Would I need to add an amplifier? Is cable routing difficult to run inside of tower -anyone have dimensions of boat while on trailer in terms of length, width, height...with tower folded down? Trying to determine if it will fit in my garage -trailer boat with cover on or off? Tower folded down? -any brand favorites on surfboards/wakeboards for beginner to intermediate abilities Pretty stoked to join the MB fam if it all checks out! Appreciate any feedback y’all throw back at me! Thanks, Matt

  6. Bungies are finally shot on my racks, anyone have any good ideas on alternative racks or better replacements for the bungies? Ideally I'd like to replace the racks with something a bit easier to use and something that could fit wake surf board. Thanks in advanced for suggestions/advice.
  7. After a 4th of July weekend at the lake we decided to get in one last surf run before closing down. I have a 2012 B52 23V with about 395 hours. We were out surfing as usual and after a start I heard a strange metallic rattle that sounded like an aluminum can popping and rattling under the platform. I slowed and stopped and looked under the boat and saw nothing. I have an FAE and the supports sometime rattle so I thought I may have had a strange rattle from there. We started up again and surfed for another 20 minutes or so and all was normal. I put it back on the lift when we got back and looked everything over. I then spotted what looks to be a small hariline crack in the prop shaft strut. It is so straight and follows the angle of the strut which makes it look almost like it is a manufacturing mark. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I would guess I will need a new strut, which will likely mean having the boat out of commission for a few weeks since all the dealers get swamped in the summer. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks. JB
  8. Hi guys, I am close to pulling the trigger on a trade in of my 2013 f21 tomcat to a 2017 B52 21 foot. The main reason I am doing this is for the GSA as I do not want to list the boat anymore for several reasons. I have been reading many threads on this site and it seems that everyone that has a B52, has the 23 foot version and loves it. I also love the new style, engine, tower, gator flooring but I just curious on how this gsa wave will stack up against my tomcat listed wave with 1100lbs in the corner and some weight in the bow. Can anyone speak to having a 2017 B52 21 foot or know anyone who has one? I would just like to know there thoughts on the wave and weighting etc. This boat will have the 800lbs plug and play installed over the factory tanks. I really appreciate the feed back guys and I am getting a good price on this particular boat so it's this one or I'm not upgrading this year Cheers!,
  9. Hello, i was thinking of putting a ladder under the swim step. does anyone know if the smooth bottom is for sure hollow? it appears to be which would pose a problem to put on a ladder. input is appreciated of has anyone done it?
  10. I have a 2004 B52V I bought used a few years ago. I'm still trying to figure out all the parts. There are four chrome ports, one on the stern and three on the hull. I know that the forward port on the starboard side is the drain for the bilge pump (see attached pic showing "bilge drain"). There's another right behind it that looks identical (same pic - labelled "A") and another on the opposite side (see second pic with label "B"). And there's a different looking port on the stern (see third pic). Can anybody tell me what those are for? I have a feeling the two on opposite sides are overflow for the ballast tanks, but I don't want to try to overfill them to check, in case there IS no overflow. Thanks for any help. (I had sent an email to MB Sports a while back and never got a reply.)
  11. Does anyone have a 2008 B52 Owners Manual in (pdf) format? Just picked up this boat and am trying to figure out a few "odd" items I've noticed in it. See attached pictures.... Help! Thanks much. Mark Virginia mjf23887@exede.net Switch.pdf Bilge.pdf Hour Meter.pdf Shower.pdf Venting.pdf
  12. Just tested out the new B52 W23 and was not impressed with the surf wake at stock ballast. The site claims it to have 3000lbs. The wave was tiny compared to what I've seen on other boats. How much ballast are you guys running to get a tall and long wave?
  13. Hello! We just ordered our 2015 MB B52 23 and have started shopping for lifts. I know the boat says it’s 4100lbs and it has a 65gal fuel tank… so full of fuel with 600lbs of people should be right at 5000lbs. It seems obvious that the 5500lb lift should be adequate but I wanted to check in with the forum to see what your feelings are on if I really would have ~500lbs of overhead with this lift. Thank you and can’t wait to get the boat!

  15. Dear MBsports Members, Happy Holidays to everyone. About a month ago I posted asking for advice regarding the F24 vs the new B52. You gave lots of great advice. After a month of research we decided to go with the B52. Specs attached. We added an extra 1100lbs ballast per side. Upgraded to a 440 due to elevation. Can't wait to get it out on the water. I'm sure I'll be posting more in the future. It's nice to see an active forum where members participate and help each other out. Cheers, Scott
  16. Can anyone tell me where the fusebox on the 2000 MB B52 is located? thank you
  17. I have an extra Acme 1273 for sale. I sold my 2008 B52 23V earlier this year and this was my backup prop. It's in it's box and shrink-wrapped, I could ship it wherever but I'd prefer a local pickup as I don't know how much shipping would be. Prop is in San Francisco. Paid $500 for this and thankfully never needed it. Asking $300 o.b.o Details on the prop: ACME 1273 4 Blade 14.5" x 14.25" PropellerDiameter: 14.5" Pitch: 14.25" Cup: .150" Rotation: Left Hand Shaft: 1 1/8"
  18. I bought my 2011 in April 2012 (was a left over from 2011). It has the big PCM (6.1 or 6,2, 410hp). I have only managed to get a whopping 35 hours on the boat. Mainly due to problems. I missed a month last year, due to the heat exchanger not being properly winterized, causing break in the coils and thus the following overheating issues. The dealer and PCM got into a pissing match over who would pay for the parts and labor. I ended up getting the short end of the stick, and it wasn't until I got really pissed after 3 weeks that stuff finally got moving. Everything ran great on the boat for the rest of the season. (mind you I am in Vermont where summer lasts only 3-4 months on the lake). Successfully finally broke the boat in. Now this year, I having overheating problems and have spent $700 already and have lost 2 weeks on the lake already this year. Dealer hasn't been able to figure this out. Ended up changing the impeller, which was not terrible, but was not perfect either. They checked everything, many hours and then water tested it for an hour and could not get it to overheat. I take it out a few times and then last night on a slow cruise, it starts to overheat. I am at a no wake speed, (1500 RPMs) for 5 minutes. My slip space requires a 10min no wake ride to get out of breakwater, so did this lots last summer. I hit the throttle as an experiment and get up to 30mph at 3500RPM and the temp comes down. I head back home and as soon as I slow down, the temp starts creeping back up. Anyone else seen this problem? I see some stuff about pump wiring voltage issues, but thread is unclear. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Bummed out on vacation week, mike

  20. I have been trying to find a second rack for my tower (somebody stole my other one, seriously who steals one rack?), hopefully with room for a surfboard. Unfortunately I have a really funky mounting system with a square peg on the tower that holds the rack with a pin. Does anyone have any info on what I have or where I can get a second rack. Also I can't find an owners manual for my 2001 B52, I contacted MB but they didn't have it either. I threw a couple pictures. Thanks for the help.
