When I was draining the water from the boat today, I noticed my PnP bags came installed reversed: Port and Starboard. I have never seen these installed or removed. The red connector on the vent and fill lines look normal compared to YouTube University for other boats. What do I need to know are out the PnP connection to the hard tanks? My Starboard side bag always pops out my cup holders and I’m guessing these bags are different enough that they would not go out of there way to label them otherwise. Thank you for the assist!

I have Fatsacs in the rear lockers I manually fill with Tsunami pumps. Does anyone have an install guide or suggestions to mount pumps and pipe to the bags? And parts list?

I just bought this boat. I've noticed my right side ballast filling up each trip without me turning on pump. After use I'm removing rear drain plugs. Left has a very small amount of water right has a lot. What can cause these to fill without running pump?

I have a lightly used Ronix Eight.3 CTN800 trapezoid PnP bag for sale. I filled it up maybe 3 or 4 times this year. Plumbing in all new bags this winter and just need this one gone. I am keeping the pump and QD fitting to use for a backup. $100 shipped.

Hey guys, I have an appointment at active in Oregon city on Tuesday to get some plug and play ballasts installed in my 2013 F21. From what I’ve read on the forums, and from just general use in my boat, bow weight is a must (even for stock ballast). Originally i was thinking 1000lb bags in the rear lockers, but after doing some reading, that seems like it may be overboard. I don’t have trim tabs on my boat, and after talking with some buddies, even 750lb bags, on top of the 900lb stock hard tanks may require tabs to get on plane. For the bow, what bags are people using up there? How much weight can you get in them, and is it adequate enough for the added weight in the rear? Were/are trim tabs necessary? With the added weight in the front, was your boat prone to porposing? I’ve had a few people up there, maybe 500lbs or so, and it makes the wake with the stock tanks great. I’m just unsure of a 500lb bag, with an additional 2-3 people up there. I understand that it WILL porpose under certain circumstances. I had a 2006 Ski centurion direct drive and the nose under NO weight sat so low to the water that any little wave would flood the bow. It would scare the sh!t out of my every time a huge roller would come near my boat. I love that my MB sits so high in the water, that’s one of the many reasons i chose it, but i don’t want to go back to constantly stressing about taking massive water over the bow with any small roller. I’m looking to get a clean, massive, consistent wake around 21.5. I’m not a fan of riding fast, as it’s more painful eating it on a failed tantrum or big 3. Also not a fan of the port side wake at slower speeds with it being constantly washed out. I’m re propping to the 2079 to help with the plaining/added weight. Any added setups, advice, conjecture is much appreciated. Just trying to make the right decision, as the install is pretty spending. Thanks in advance!

I realize that I am posting on a MB Sports forum and I understand that some of the answers might be a little biased... But I really need some advice. Looking to buy a 2018 Boat. $80k~ Budget My time on water = 70% wake surfing 20% relaxing 10% wakeboarding/ tubing etc.. I want a 22 foot or larger. I hear 21 foot boats tend to have a little more difficulty with wake surfing / water displacement. I have looked at every option out there and I have talked to several dealers. I have a fantastic Malibu, Supreme, Centurion and MB Sports dealer right in my area. So these brands appeal to me a little more.. I want a good out of the box wake surfing boat. I don’t want to add ballasts (like I did with my previous boats) or heavily modify my boat. I am spending a ton of money and I want for it to be right from the start. Any opinions out there on what I should look at? I am highly considering a Tomcat F22 (due to price, looks and being a local west coast company) but the other day I went and looked at a Malibu NXT22 which also looked great! The dealer told me that It would be just a matter of time before I upgraded to a Malibu... and that I would “like” my MB but not “Love” it. (I know they were trying to sell a boat but maybe they were right?) I have watched countless videos on performance and quality. I just want real owner experience. Is MB the way to go?? Please help!!

I just bought (at a very nice price) an 06 B52 V23 Team Edition and there are repairs which need to be done asap but I am having extreme difficulty getting and technical info needed so I can dive in. I've poured over this forum but not found the answers. My ballast pumps do not work but I don't know how the system is laid out to even start the repairs. The switch panel has no writing indicating what buttons to even push. I've flipped them but nothing happens. Does anyone have a service manual or anything...? Also, the perfect pass and depth finder is not working. Perfect pass is sporadic. Can anyone please help point me in the right direction?

This is the first surfing boat we've ever had. Before this we had a 1994 Malibu Echelon for slalom skiiing (which the MB is still great for btw), and we got the MB brand new in 2014. This is the first time we're trying to add aftermarket ballast, so we're new to all this and just bear with me! So I finally learned to surf without the rope, and I was using only 900 lbs of factory ballast. Now i'm researching and found out it's way easier when you have a bigger wake, wish I knew that before haha. So can someone help a girl out and explain exactly what type of ballast bags I should get, and where I should put them? A lot of places say to put it in the rear compartment near the engine, on one side, then others say to put it in the bow for a longer wave. Which is best? Do I do both? Should I have the dealership put them in/ consult me on this or is that unnecessary? Trying to be cost efficient. What ratio of factory ballast verse bag weight verse weight from people/gear did yall use? Trying not to sink the boat. I was looking at the ballast bags on https://www.wakemakers.com/wakeboard-ballast-bags?gclid=CIznlePQltQCFRiewAodOUMFWw is there a certain one yall have used for your MB and like? Are they easy to use/ could you fill up and drain quickly? Also, can someone explain exactly what play and plug is? Does my 2014 B52 21' have it? I saw that MB just added play and plug to their 2016 model, but on another thread on here someone said their 2014 has it. I understand that if we got ballast bags we would have to manually pump them to fill/drain, but with play n plug you hook the bags up and the boat does it for you....is that right? Also how necessary is it to get GSA plates, and what exactly do these do? We surf mainly in the summer, not year round, so if these are wildly expensive could we forgo them? We LOVE the MB and are excited to get a bigger, better wake. If you see in my picture, our wake right now is pitiful. Surfable, but difficult. I attached a picture that I found useful of where to put the bags, but it's not specific to B52 21 and it doesn't say how much weight I can have. The second picture is a screenshot from https://www.gosurfassist.com/boat-ballast-setup where it tells you only put 750s in the back and none in the front? I thought that was weird. Also it tells you to fill up "all the factory ballast", which would mean filling up both sides and from what I understand you only fill up one side? Again it tells you to put bags in both sides of rear which is weird to me. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 2013 B52 (23) with stock ballast tanks. I am considering adding two bags in the rear lockers and 1 bag in the bow, plus a cav plate. I am not a DIY guy when it comes to drilling holes in the boat. I would appreciate any recommendation on ballast or thoughts on the benefits of the cav plate. We surf, wakeboard and ski. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to add 900/1100s in the rear lockers. Would you guys go with reversible Johnson/Ballast Puppies or aerator pumps? On the surface it seems high end reversible pumps are the bees' knees but having two cheaper, slightly faster aerators that can't be hurt by running dry is a better choice. Are Fly High bags superior to Ronix or Straight Line Sumos? I know several installers won't touch the last two. It would be nice to use some of their proprietary super high flow pumps vs. the slower Fly High pumps. Any other ideas I'm missing? Many thanks in advance!

Has anyone had any issues with the baffles in their hard tanks breaking, laying down and floating around? Mine has been broken for sometime. Kind of worried it may cause more issues?? Where is the ballast tank level sensor? Could it get wiped out? Would this be covered under warranty? Doesn't MB have a lifetime hull warranty?

So I dont post alot or push products. But I want to push this. The guys at Wakemakers have been a huge help to me learning and navigating owning a boat. They have saved me from a ton of mistakes so I wanted to share this link with you if you are looking for advise or need help with board selection or surf setups. Spencer and Bryan have been helping me since I bought my 2014 Tomcat. If you hit them up for any tech questions on ballast or surf systems let them know that Ben from the National Guard sent you they will take good care of you. I will be putting the new Wave Control system on the Tomcat this winter will post pics when all done. They are having a huge blackfriday and Cybermonday special. they will be giving a way 10 $100.00 giftcards and are now currently selling the all new Wave Control surf system. So go check them out. www.wakemakers.com/black-friday

I bought a 2002 220 Sport that had a crazy stereo system in it. The rear locker or trunk had 2 sub enclosures glassed into it. I pulled the subs out and want to reclaim all that space for storage and / or ballast bags. I'd like to see pictures of what you've done with that space and where else to put subs in the boat. Also, the ballast pumps are gone so if you have pictures of the pump set up that would be great. Thanks to all!

Howdy all, I'm New to the site and was wondering if any of you have had problems with your ballast system/controls? The right side sticks periodically (controls won't light up) and I have to manually open the ballast with an Allen wrech. It will reset itself for awhile but seems to have a mind of its own in the water. Any help would be appreciated..thx!

I had started a thread about a week ago asking about my ballast not filling. I purchased a 05 mb b52 well the dealer fixed it and ballast now fill properly. My next question is they empty very slowly just dribble out. I did find if I turn the shut off valves in the engine compartment that they will empty very vast with a long stream. So my question is is this the proper way to empty them or are they supposed to empty with the intake valve open? Thanks for any info.

Hello I just recently purchased an 05 b52 this is my first wakeboard boat. Today I went and tried to fill the ballast but they were not filling or getting any water. I could hear the impellers spinning but no water being sucked up. Is there any thing I may be missing or doing wrong? Thanks

Hello All, I have had my 2012 tomcat for a year now and have been mucking with the ballast and weighting.. I have been unimpressed with the washy and small wake I am pushing... I used to ride a 2008 B52V23...that boat had a way better surf! I enclosed a pic of me surfing my last wave... So far I am using full port stock ballast, A 800 lb bag in the rear port locker. 300 lb bag of front and 1/4 starboard stock ballast.. Just looks washy and blah..... also I noticed that my exhaust starts steaming a bit...like less water is going through....Any body else have these issues?
-
Just tested out the new B52 W23 and was not impressed with the surf wake at stock ballast. The site claims it to have 3000lbs. The wave was tiny compared to what I've seen on other boats. How much ballast are you guys running to get a tall and long wave?

We noticed that the gel coat under the swim step between the exhaust ports was faded real bad and only in that area on our 2014 F22 Tomcat with 101 hours on it. We keep our boat on a lift out of the water so I don't think that is the issue. I had the dealership contact MB to see if that could be covered under warranty and they told us no because they felt that the extra ballast weight was making the engine (upgraded 409) run hotter and therefore that is what caused the gel coat to look like it does now. I have to question that since the exhaust goes into the water first before touching the boat. The boat is running perfect right at about 175 degrees so it is not overheating. I am not a mechanic by any means but if the engine is running at the correct temperature I have a hard time believing that the exhaust is that much hotter. Oh an BTW the boat is rated to hold 14 people, I think that if we usually ride with only 4-6 people, the extra ballast weight is making up for the other 8-10 people. Please let me know if you are running extra weight in your boat and you have noticed this issue. Please help so that I know how hard I should press this issue. I am kind of dissapointed with the answer from MB.

IT FINALLY GOT WARM ENOUGH FOR THE FIRST ATTEMPT OF THE YEAR IN KENTUCKY. WATER WAS 67 DEG. AND HAD DECENTLY CALM WATER. I HAD 2 EXPERIENCE GUYS BEHIND THE BOAT THAT SURF VERY WELL. WE PLAYED WITH THE BALLAST AND TRIED FOR A FEW HOURS TO DIAL IT IN. I DO NOT HAVE TRIM TABS, OR TRIM ON MY 21 TOMCAT TO START. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN INSTALLING IT. WITH THIS SAID I WANT TO GET THE BEST SURF WAKE POSSIBE OUT OF MY BOAT AND WAS LOOKING FOR SOME HELP, OR SOMEONE EXPERIENCED WITH THIS BOAT. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL BOATS, AND THIS IS MY FIRST MB. I AM JUST TRYING TO SAVE A LOT OF TIME DIALING IT IN. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. I FILLED THE PASSANGER SIDE FACTORY FULL. PUT A 1100# BAG IN THE SKI LOCKER AND ABOUT 625# FROM THE AMPS RUNNING TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE BOAT UNDER THE SEAT. THIS WORKED PRETTY GOOD BUT THE TOP HAD A LITTLE WHITE ON IT AND THE POCKET WASNT AS LONG AS EXPECTED. I THEN FILLED THE RIGHT SIDE UP HALF FULL AND DIDNT MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE. WE HAD FUN WITH THIS, BUT I KNOW I AM NOT GETTING THE BEST POTIENTIAL OUT OF THE BOAT. WE RAN OUT OF DAYLIGHT AND THIS IS ALL WE GOT FOR THE FIRST OUTING. THANKS FOR THE HELP IN ADVANCE.
