center tab not function

Recommended Posts

Dear MB sports,

I purchased a 2023 MB B-52 alpha in Feb. 2024.  The boat is awesome.  However, 15 minutes into our boating experience, the center tab stops working.  I am wondering why?  it doesn't matter if we are just boating or if we are surfing, the center tab works initially, then completely stops.  I have been stuck with the center tab at 30 degrees and at 0 degree.  I have to put the boat on the dock lift or trailer for it to reset.  Then the next trip out, it does the same thing.  advice?

Just a heads up, you need to turn the key to the on position and wait for 5-10 seconds for the system to zero out and gauges do their sweep.  Maybe you already do this. But this is a pretty common thing for tabs to not work correctly. Especially since you say you have to "reset" it on the trailer.

Mine randomly stops working, rather annoying.  I find if I turn the boat off with the key and it doesn’t reset, turn the master switch off for about a minute, then on, key to acc wait for everything to boot then start and it usually resets itself.  Had mine on auto plane and it got stuck at 100, that was not fun.

I have 2023 B52 alpha 23' with exactly the same problem.  Only exception is I have to shut off the master to the batteries to reset.  Then turn ignition off, then back on and let the gauges do their sweep.  with all this, I can get another 10 min. of it working before it quits.  I also learned this weekend that the horn will also not work when the trim tab is not working.  I do the reset as detailed above and both work great for 8-10 minutes.  then nothing from the trim tab nor the horn.  I got inspected by the local water patrol when we  found this little problem. Went to demo the horn and nothing.

Anyone else notice if their horn stops working when the center trim tab is also non-functional?
