FlyNavy
Forgive my ignorance, I’m new to V-Drive boats. I committed to purchase a new 2024 F22 Alpha today. Nicely built boats, and I am impressed with the build quality. That being said, one thing that stood out to me on the drive in the demo boat was how hard it wanted to pull right, especially at higher speeds. It’s definitely a firm grip on the steering wheel type pull at pretty much anything above surf speeds. The dealer insists it’s normal, just wanted to ask the collective here to confirm. Appreciate it!

I think good ol’ autocorrect got an extra word in there. Typical or not on your MBs?
oboyskibum
Poor typing on my part I guess. Yes, it seems typical of my MB's to pull hard right. The more load you have and the bigger the motor the more pull you get. My 575 loaded pulls hard when surfing on the regular side with a full load. It would be nice to have power assist of some kind. Gotcha, glad to hear it’s normal. I agree, power assist would be nice. Thank you!
Tsdahc
Normal is what I was told, tested a 21 tomcat, f22 and b52 all pull right. I went with b52A, pulls right as well. Was told it was purposefully to help track straight, I just deal with it.
creativefletch
If you're driving by yourself or without counterweight open the Portside gravity fed ballast lever (the one on the left) for 5-10 seconds and then close it. This will provide subfloor weight to offset the driver weight and the prop rotation (pulling starboard) and keep the boat riding more level.
