AZ_MB
We wakeboard. I think surfing is growing so much because it is beginner friendly and easy on the body so it appeals to a much wider audience. dobber

The Donfather
I ride at 75' ballast full and 23.5 MPH Josh is a lot better than i am . In fact from most of the pics in this thread everyone is a lot better than i am. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That is only because i havent posted any pictures. As long as you are having fun, doesnt matter how well you ride. Shawndoggy
jwweathers
I am only about half a good as I once was. Marriage, kids, fat, etc. have come into my life over the years. Still love to get out there and give it a shot, though. Don't own a surf board. I have surfed several times, but it is extremely boring in my opinion. The whole surfing boom is genius relative to the water sports industry. All of the old heads and goobers that are scared to get slammed are pouring money into the industry when they would otherwise be playing softball or watching the world series of poker. logan91077
Its all about having fun for sure. And even though im not very good im still progressing. I did start wearing a helmet more often now, lame i know, but taking a slam on the head wont have me getting back in the boat as quickly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I actually found that the helmet increased the stress on my neck / head when falling. Because it does not want to submerge it felt to me that it increased the amount of force to the head.

DFTR Josh
No vest just a tank top? Nah I'm rocking a comp vest under my jersey. This pic was shot for my board sponsor at the time and I usually try and rock a CGA vest.

logan91077
I am surprised this thread is rolling as well as it is. Thought for sure the wakeboard section had a lot of dust on it. Glad to see people aren't just using their boats at 10.5 mph WakeDirt
DFTR Josh
Case in point. Josh is pretty damn good I'm not all that good... It's the still pictures that don't show the wrecks, LOL! I just love to ride and if we come up with a few good still shots I'm happy. Leaving for Powell tomorrow and hope to get a few more shots to add to the folder. SteeleWake
I live to wakeboard! hahaha I am 42, and decided two years ago that I wanted to get in to boating and learn to wakeboard. I've put in a ton of work but still am not that great, but damn I do love it out there on the water. Between Don and my boat we're out there almost every weekend year round. I'm also really lucky to live near the CA Delta so have had the chance to ride with some amazing riders who've given me lots of great tips. OH...as for line length and speed...really depends on what I'm working on. For the Tomcat, I've only had it for a couple months (but 100 hours haha) and have found that I generally like to play around at 65' at 22mph. M1AHD
now that we are post labor day it seems that many of the yahoos aren't coming out to the lake anymore.. Was able to get a nice set in yesterday afternoon. Yup, a saturday afternoon Nice water and had a good set. 75ft 22mph full factory ballast plus ~150lbs extra in the bow and ~200lbs extra in the rear lockers. Full tank of gas. Wake was really nice. However.... This morning I am SORE!

Been forced to the higher lakes which is consumed by big city boaters. That sh!t cray
