Aarjones
I have a new to me 2013 B52 23’ ... pretty pumped as this is my first tow boat. I have had i/o and old flat bottom v-droves but not a tow boat. Love the forum and i have been reading a lot the last couple f weeks. Has anyone had the back of the observer seat blow out ? Where the air shocks mount look has broken the HDPE. Before i take it to an upholstery person, i was thinking about repairing it by making a patch out of aluminum or SS sheet . Has anyone tried this ? Anyone have any advise on this repair? If my patch idea doesn’t work and i have to take it in for repair i was thinking about having the back and bottom cushion separated..... has anyone done that? Any reason not to? Seems like this one piece design is a bad idea but maybe i am way off bases Thanks for any suggestions

Wakenam
Same thing happened today with my observers seat. Any ideas on how to fix this?
AZ_MB
You could try a plate of aluminum or stainless like the OP mentioned.
Wakenam
Yes a stainless plate is the idea..Any pics of the fix? How much of the vinyl did you cut away? Might be an idea to remove all the broken pieces before patching with the plate.
AZ_MB
I didn't try a stainless plate so I can't share any input other than it seems like a viable option. I ended up having the seat rebuilt and the broken piece inside was replaced.

Aarjones
Well, mine broke again ... such a bad design. So I am going to try an aluminum to SS bent sheet on the back. Anyone tried this yet?
