houghton/mb/tomcat Posted August 7, 2020 Report Share Posted August 7, 2020 Hello, Does anyone know the maker of the ballast bags that came stock in a 2017 f21 tomcat? The fill line port that is plastic welded to the bag came loose, I am trying to find out if I can get a kit to fix it or maybe you all would know if I should just buy a new bag. OrangeTJ Posted August 7, 2020 Report Share Posted August 7, 2020 I had the same thing happen with one of the bags in my 2016. I was about to buy a new bag ($$$) but decided to try VLP vinyl repair/adhesive first. It has worked so far and has held for the past 10 outings. jtryon Posted August 12, 2020 Report Share Posted August 12, 2020 same thing happened to brand new bags i bought this spring because i over-tightened the fitting. i fixed it by gooping it up with a few layers of 3M 4200 and it's worked perfectly all season. I know this thread is really old but this exact same thing just happened to my 2018 F22 Tomcat Custom 650 lb Wake maker bags in the rear lockers and they want $600 a bag to replace I'm curious which bulkhead plumbing you found, looks like it has good coverage around the bag hole. Duke_Goes_Hard Posted July 23 Report Share Posted July 23 Midnight - I had same exact issue with 650lb locker bags in my 2020 F22 Tomcat. I installed a bulkhead fitting as mentioned. I used a Banjo TF100 1” Bulkhead fitting. It accepts the 1-1/8” NPT fitting that Wakemaker uses. You will need to grind the bottom half of the fitting slightly so that it fits through the bottom of the stainless steel collar of the bag. (Wife’s small hands were needed) From there I used a sealant called Gear Aid Aquaseal and slathered the inside and outside connections of the fitting and tightened down the nut. Let dry, throw back in the boat, and back on the water. I’ve been using this repair for two seasons now and works great with no leaks or issues. Spent $20 and an hour to save $600.
